There have be a lot of new features and enhancements between IBM Cognos Controller versions 8.5 and 10.2. Thus, organisations that are using older versions of Cognos Controller are considering to upgrade to the latest version to leverage on the new capabilities. We have successfully completed an upgrade exercise for an organisation that uses IBM Cognos Controller and IBM Cognos TM1 extensively. We are confident that we can replicate the same success and quality of work to all future upgrade exercises!

Following the release on IBM Cognos TM1 version 10.2.0 on 10 Sep 2013, we have been busy in getting our hands dirty on the latest features. The results have been very impressive thus far, especially on the following areas:

Improved query performance due to multi-threading
Integrated scordcards
Migration capabilities from Cognos Planning to TM1
New Excel client "Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel" or CAFE
Improvement on TM1 Web
More useful enhancements to Performance Modeler that helps developers and administrators
Greater flexibility in developing Applications i.e. workflow models

We will be focusing on helping our customers who are on older TM1 versions or are currently using Cognos Planning to migrate to TM1 version 10.2.0 in the coming months as we see great benefits and values that our customers can reap from the new features.

Successful implementation of IBM Cognos Controller with DB2

We have recently deployed and implemented IBM Cognos Controller successfully with IBM DB2 database. MS SQL is widely used as a database for IBM Cognos Controller. With this successful implementation using IBM DB2, it represents yet another milestone for Adept in providing more alternatives to customers who plan to deploy Controller in non-MS SQL database.
